When I lived in DC proper, I lived literally right across the street from a Shake Shack. While I think their food is good, not great, the convenience always made it easy to get some food from. My go-to was either the avocado bacon burger or the fried chicken sandwich. To be frank, my favorite thing was their salty fries with their honey mustard dipping sauce.
Shake Shack recently announced the ability to get a free chicken sandwich on Sundays in April either in-store or via the app or online using the code CHICKENSUNDAY with a 10 dollar purchase. (I haven’t had the chance to look in-depth, but apparently the marketing is partially a dig at Chick-fil-a being closed on Sunday. I don’t know for sure.)
This is a niche deal I normally wouldn’t cover. However, I think it’s worth calling out if you hold the American Express Gold card. (I don’t have a referral for this. However, here’s a list of cards currently in my wallet that you can ask for a referral for.) With the American Express Gold, you get a $10 credit each month to use at one of Grubhub, The Cheesecake Factory, Goldbelly, Wine.com, Milk Bar, or select Shake Shack locations.
There’s no master list of Shake Shack locations where this is useful, but I would assume that it works at standalone stores. Mall locations might work, and I would gander that airport locations won’t work.
Conclusion
Shake Shack has a free chicken sandwich on Sundays in April with a $10 purchase. With the $10 credit from the American Express Gold card, you would get a big free meal! It’s a deal that I’ll be taking advantage of, as who doesn’t want a free meal?
What do you think of this Shake Shack deal? Will you be partaking?
